Project Overview
THE STORY
Darren and Dale (brothers, best friends, and possibly cousins), convinced that the end of the Mayan calendar is about to bring on the "Zompocalypse," retreat to their family's remote farmhouse to await the coming storm. As sh*t begins to get increasingly real, the brothers prepare themselves to become the last known survivors of a brave, new, and possibly undead world.
THE APPROACH
As you can see from the following video (which was entirely improvised in a half hour with our two leads meeting for the first time on set), improv comedy will play an important role in the making of the film:
Talkin' Zombies with Dale & Darren
Chris Meister (Dale), Mike Manship (Darren) and I (Eric Anderson...not a character name, I'm the director) have fleshed out scenes and structure and we'll let the cameras roll and see what happens (magic is the goal).
I'll also be "Blair Witch-ing" things by introducing unexpected situations, objects and other actors for our leads to deal with.
And of course, at the end of filming our entire cast and crew will disappear, leaving only our footage behind.
FILMING
Filming is currently scheduled for spring 2012 in Kansas and Illinois.
